I am directed by Secretary Sir E. Grey to forward

herewith for the information of the Rubber and Tin

Exports Committee, a copy of a letter received from

the firm of Messrs, Mitsui and Company, and to state

in reply to the Rubber Exports Committee's letter of

the 25th September, that Sir E. Grey would be glad if

the Committee would use their discretion as to the

granting of licences for any applications made by

Messrs. Mitsui and Company for the export of rubber and

tin until a reply can be received from His Majesty's

Ambassadors at Ɖashington and Tokyo to the despatches

of which copies are enclosed herewith,
